Leanne perished alongside her father, Max Cranwell and 7 other Australians in the Kokoda Plane Crash, Papua New Guinea, on the 11th August 2009.
Leanne was a member of the Club for over 7 years and together with her husband Chris, passed on their great love of athletics to their two children, Maddison and Thomas.
Leanne always demonstrated great commitment, determination and courage in her sporting achievements, such as marathon running, tennis, and netball. She would always encourage her children, friends and family in whatever activities they were pursuing. Leanne was a strong believer that you didn't always have to be the best, just "suck it up" and "give it your best shot" were common phrases that she would use.
Her sporting values have left a lasting legacy on all that knew her.
This Award is presented to the athlete that demonstrates many of Leanne's sporting values throughout the Season
